Genital herpes is a common, highly infectious and sexually transmitted disease caused by a virus known as herpes simplex virus. The genital herpes simplex virus, HSV-2, is contagious and also ubiquitous in nature. It is transmitted from one person to another usually during sexual contact and results in blisters or groups of small ulcers (open sores) on and around the genitals in both the sexes.

In genital herpes, the viral infection is usually transmitted through intimate contact with the moist mucous linings of the genitals. The herpes simplex virus enters the mucous membranes through microscopic tears when there is contact of the mouth, the vagina or the genital skin.

CALGARY — After passionate and sometimes rancourous debate, Calgary city council voted 10-3 Tuesday to eliminate fluoride from the city’s drinking water, rejecting pleas to send the matter to plebiscite or an expert panel.

To which I say “Really?” Why would we go to “experts” to tell us if it should be mandatory to consume fluoride? Regardless if its bad or good for us? If I want it in my body, I’ll go buy it. However, don’t force me to drink it by putting it in the main source of drinking water for our city.
